Codeck support

Let’s get you back to the deck.

Start with installation and activation, then connect your existing Codex or Claude tasks.

Open My account

Sign in to My account to view your purchases, copy your license, and download Codeck. Older unclaimed purchases can be recovered with the original checkout email.

Download and install

Use My account or the Codeck purchase confirmation page. Open the DMG, move Codeck to Applications, eject the disk image, and open Codeck from Applications. macOS verifies the signed and notarized release. Do not disable Gatekeeper or remove quarantine to work around a warning; contact support instead.

Codeck requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. Check the compatibility details before buying.

Activate or move your license

Copy your key from My account into the activation window while online. One license permits one active Mac installation. Use Settings → License → Manage → Deactivate This Mac before moving to another Mac. Reinstalling on the same Mac normally reuses the retained Keychain record.

If activation is interrupted, reconnect and choose Retry Activation. Codeck reuses this Mac’s installation identifier without consuming another slot. If your old Mac is unavailable or the activation slot appears occupied unexpectedly, contact support with your order reference and the installation support code shown in Codeck. Never send your full license key.

Reconnect to verify

Codeck verifies licenses quietly while online and permits up to 30 days after a successful verification. If it asks you to reconnect, check your internet connection and choose Verify License. A revoked license requires purchase support. License problems do not delete your projects or stop tasks in Codex or Claude.

Quick Tasks

Press Option + Command + N, or choose New task in the deck’s Projects view, to start a task without switching apps. Speak or type the task, press Option + P to choose the project folder, then press 1 for Codex or 2 for Claude Code. Codeck opens the new task in that app; turn on auto-send in Settings to have it submitted for you. A task started under a Codex Dot is handed to that Dot’s conversation.

Shortcuts and permissions

Every keyboard shortcut can be changed in Settings → Keyboard shortcuts. The Right Command + Right Option gesture needs optional Input Monitoring. Run the guide or test the listener in Settings. The menu bar and Option + Command + K work without that grant once activated. Optional auto-send uses Accessibility. Voice input needs microphone access and local speech resources; typing remains available if voice is unavailable.

Codex live task status

Codex tasks started with “This computer” in the ChatGPT app show live Running/Completed tracking in Codeck.

Codex cloud tasks also show live status while “Live status for Codex cloud tasks” is on in Settings, which it is by default. This is experimental: it uses an interface OpenAI does not officially support and may stop working after a ChatGPT update. If cloud tasks stop updating, update Codeck, confirm you are signed in to Codex in the ChatGPT app, and check provider health. Cloud tasks remain listed without live status when the connection is unavailable or turned off.

Missing tasks

Confirm the ChatGPT app or Claude Desktop is installed and that the task appears in its task list. For Codex live status, see Codex live task status above. Your provider account must include access to the task features you use; Codeck does not include provider subscriptions. If Claude asks you to upgrade before opening Code, check your Claude plan. Codeck 1.0 reads Claude Code sessions created in Claude Desktop; terminal-only Claude Code sessions are not supported. Check provider health, refresh, and use Copy Diagnostics before contacting support.
